When determining the ideal office size, consider your current and future space needs. Ask yourself:
- How many people will work in the office daily?
- Does any department need private offices, like HR or accounting?
- Do you need meeting rooms or collaborative spaces?
- What are your company’s growth projections?
- Do employees need a break area, or do they typically eat at their desks?
- Will you have clients visiting, and if so, do you need a reception area?
- Do you require a specialty area (assembly, packaging, etc.)?
For professional services, an average of 250 rentable square feet (RSF) per person is a common benchmark. A team of 10 would need appr 2,500 RSF. For more open-concept offices, you can lower this to about 200 RSF per person, or 2,000 RSF for 10 people.
